Working at Heights Awareness
This program is intended for professionals and workers who must operate
in environments without adequate fall protection. These environments may include rooftops, tanks, buildings, vehicles, and similar locations. It is also designed for individuals who use fixed and portable ladders, mobile elevated work platforms, manbaskets, and scaffolding.

Contents:
After completing the course, participants will have acquired the following knowledge:
• Understanding of current national and European legislation for working at heights.
• Understanding of the hierarchy of control measures and recognising the hazards when working at height.
• Understanding of basic concepts such as work/travel restraint systems and fall arrest systems, and the ability to apply the safest method in each case.
• Knowledge about fall protection equipment, such as fall arrest devices, lanyards, energy absorbers, anchor points, retractable fall arresters, mobile anchor devices and more.
• Selection, user inspection, fitting, and adjustment of the PFPE. The hazards and risks associated with the incorrect use of PFPE.
• Calculation of the potential fall distance, clearance and swing.
• Safe use of ladders, MEWPS, and scaffolds.
• Safe use of permanent and temporary, vertical or horizontal lifelines and self-retracting lifelines.
• Understanding the importance of Permits for Work, Risk Assessment for WaH, JSAs, and Fall Protection Plans.
• Emergency preparedness and Rescue-Evacuation Plans from Heights.
• Reference to Suspension Trauma and first aid protocols and the procedures to be followed.
Goals:
After completing this program, participants will be skilled at recognising potential fall hazards and taking the necessary steps to prevent falls. This knowledge will enhance their safety and boost their productivity, allowing them to work with more confidence and efficiency.
Exam:
Participants would have completed a theoretical test to obtain their certificate. (Valid for three years).
